Setting up the integration
1Generate your Tellent HR API key
First, you'll need to create an API key in your Tellent HR account:
- Log in to your Tellent HR account at
https://app.tellent.com/ - Navigate to Settings (click Tellent logo in the top-left corner)
- Go to Integrations β API Keys
- Click Generate API Key
- Copy the generated API key and store it securely
2Connect HRwise to Tellent HR
Now you'll configure the integration in HRwise:
- Log in to your HRwise account
- Navigate to Settings β Integrations
- Find Tellent HR in the list of available integrations
- Click Connect
- Paste your Tellent HR API key when prompted
- Click Connect
- After successful connection, click Sync to sync your data with Hrwise
What data is synced?
HRwise syncs the following data from Tellent HR:

From HRwise β Tellent HR
Currently, this is a one-way sync (Tellent β HRwise only). HRwise does not write data back to Tellent HR. Your Tellent HR system remains the source of truth for core employee information.

Understanding Project Sync
Project assignments in Tellent HR work differently from typical HRIS systems:
This means:
- Only projects with actual time tracked will appear in HRwise
- The sync looks back 12 months from today's date
- If you archive a project in Tellent, it will be marked as "Completed" in HRwise
Troubleshooting
Sync fails with "Authentication Error"
Your API key may have expired or been regenerated. Go back to Tellent HR, generate a new API key, and update it in HRwise integration settings.
Some employees aren't syncing
Check that the employees are marked as "Active" in Tellent HR. HRwise only syncs active employees by default.
Projects not showing up in HRwise
Remember that projects are discovered via timesheet entries. If employees haven't logged time to a project in the last 12 months, it won't sync. Ask employees to log their project work in Tellent HR timesheets.
Data Privacy & Security
HRwise takes data security seriously:
- Encryption in transit: All API communication uses TLS 1.3 encryption
- Encryption at rest: Employee personal data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
- Access control: Only users with appropriate permissions can view synced data
- Audit logs: All sync activities are logged for compliance purposes
- Data retention: You can delete synced data at any time via integration settings
